Summer camps to open in August

We are delighted to announce that we plan to open two residential centres in the UK in August 2020.

The two centres and three programmes we plan to offer are:

DATES

  • Turn one will run from 2nd to 16th August
  • Turn two will run from 16th to 30th August

 

BOOKINGS

  • Groups and individuals are welcome for 1-4 weeks
  • Booking deadline for turn 1 is 17th July
  • Booking deadline for turn 2 is 31st July

 

MINIMUM NUMBERS

  • Minimum 50 people per two weeks at Royal Agricultural University
  • Minimum 100 people per two weeks at Royal Holloway
  • Minimum 7 night stay on the Football programme
  • Alternative centres or dates may be offered if minimum not reached

 

We will only run these programmes if government advice at the time, in relation to language schools, large gatherings and quarantine for international travellers, allow us to do so.

 

SAFETY MEASURES

To ensure the campuses and our programmes are COVID compliant and to maintain social distancing and reduce the risk of transmission we will introduce the following measures:

  • Reduced campus capacities – maximum 110 at Royal Agricultural University and 240 at Royal Holloway
  • Social distancing markers and one way systems around campus
  • Hand sanitising stations in campus buildings
  • Reduced capacity on transfer and excursion coaches and avoiding public transport wherever possible
  • Single en-suite accommodation with no shared spaces available
  • Restricted access to accommodation for service staff and wipes and hand gel provided
  • Increased hygiene provision around campus
  • Maximum 16 students per class in large lecture-style classrooms only
  • Increased staff supervision during break times and onsite activities capped at 50 participants
  • All excursions by private coach only and open-air visits only
  • Close consultation with local NHS services and connected to the local health centre
  • Staff trained in how to deal with suspected cases of COVID-19 and contingency plan in place
  • Coronavirus risk assessments undertaken

 

ONLINE SUMMER COURSES

In the meantime, should your students still want to continue their English language studies with us we are delighted to launch the Oxford International Online Summer school. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to study English from the comfort of their own home with international students all over the world. Highlights of the programme include:

  • 10 hours of face-to-face English language tuition in the virtual classroom per week
  • 5 hours of interactive social activities per week
  • 2 sessions per day – 08:30-12:00 and 15:30-19:00
  • 10 students maximum per class
  • 3 age groups – 8-11, 12-14, 15-17 years
  • 3 levels – A2/B1/B2
  • 1,2,3 or 4 week programmes available

It all starts on Monday 29th June and will run right through until Friday 30th August.
