The Virtual Classroom FAQ's
Which platform do you use?
We use a platform called ZOOM along with some additional sites and applications for further interaction and sharing of resources.
Do you require a minimum level of English or are all levels available?
It is available for levels A2-C1.
How do you check my English level?
We will send you a link to a placement test via email prior to starting the online classes.
Students can choose from either General English or Skills for the Workplace. What is the difference?
Skills for the Workplace is a more business-focused syllabus and students will engage with concepts more useful for the business environment. The course includes topics such as CV writing, presentation skills etc.
Will the teacher be the same for each class?
If you book a fixed lesson time and keep the same lesson time for the whole week, it will be the same teacher.
Can I make a request for the lessons to be taught by UK teachers?
Students will be taught by both UK and North America teachers depending on the time of day the student chooses.
What are the options for junior groups and what does the project work include?
The group can choose either 3 x 60 minute virtual classroom lessons and 2 hours of project work per week OR 2 x 90 minute virtual classroom lessons and 2 hours of project work per week. The project work is task-based homework which they will do at home, and which the virtual classroom teacher will discuss with the students. The teacher will be asking the students how they got along with their project work, and there will be a group discussion and review of the work in the virtual classroom.
Is there a more intensive course option available for juniors?
We can offer 5 hours per week of tuition (not including the project work). One-to-One individual sessions with a teacher are also available. Find out more here.
