CREATIVE EVENTS

Question:
How long can a student be in front of the screen?
Answer:
We shall not be prescriptive in regards to the time spent in front of the screen as it is likely to depend on the storyline and content of the play.

Question:
If a student needs to be behind the screen but doesn’t say anything, do they count as participating in an event?
Answer:
Yes, they do. The only student who does not count as a participant is the student who operates the computer for the purposes of background music and sound effects (and forwarding of slides during presentations).

Question:
What kind of props will you provide?
Answer:
We will be able to provide props which are standard furnishing/equipment of a school. That means tables, chairs, etc. If you need something unique or quite specific, it will be the responsibility of the team.

Question:
Can you provide materials like paper, cardboard, etc. if we need them?
Answer:
We will be able to provide standard paper and small quantities of card paper. If you need any specific stationery and/or large quantities of paper, it will be the responsibility of the team.

Question:
How do we make sure we get all we need for the drama, e.g. if we need tables and chairs?
Answer:
Shortly after you arrive the Academic Event Manager will hold a briefing regarding the competition elements. They will ask you to note down your requirements and then they will follow up with you on what they can or cannot get.

Question:
Can someone move the light to different parts of the stage if it is necessary?
Answer:
No, unfortunately, the light will have to stay fixed.

Question:
Can we turn the lights on and off when the students are coming in and out of the screen?
Answer:
No, unfortunately, the light will have to stay on during the duration of the whole performance.

Question:
What kind of microphones are you providing?
Answer:
It will be a standard wired PA kit.

Question:
What are the dimensions of the light reflector which will be used for the drama?
Answer:
Please refer to Post 1 for this information.

Question:
Will the students be able to get close to the reflector without touching it, let´s say 30 or 40 cm away?
Answer:
We will not allow students to get as close as 30 cm for health and safety reasons.

Question:
Will they be able to play sound effects during the drama presentation?
Answer:
Yes, if you have the music ready on a pen drive and if a member of the team takes on the responsibility.

Question:
What colour will the light reflected on the white screen be? Red, yellow, white?
Answer:
It’ll be a standard white-ish light with no colour filters. The specific parameters of the light can be found in Post 1.
