GENERAL

Question:

Do we need to submit general info for the accompanying teachers on the BEO Portal?

Answer:

You do NOT need to submit any details for accompanying teachers. We are only collecting student data.

Question:

Can you clarify what “western business attire” is?

Answer:

Western business attire refers to smart, professional clothing, rather than a school uniform or a uniform which is too casual. It is not necessary that students wear a suit, but if the event dress code is “western business or school uniform”, they should avoid wearing jeans, sneakers, tracksuits or sports clothing, miniskirts or minidresses, strapless or otherwise revealing clothing.

Question:

Do students have certain facilities on campus such as an iron for clothing?

Answer:

Yes, irons and ironing boards are typically available. Once you have been allocated your campus, you will receive a Centre Guidebook which will provide you with further information about your campus and its facilities, along with a suggested packing list.

PRESENTATION EVENTS

Question:

Regarding the BEO Investigation, how is it done? Is it a debate or a presentation?

Answer:

BEO Investigation is a presentation.

Question:

The questions that the students are asked by the BEO staff; are they asked to a specific student? Or can they be answered by any of the students performing?

Answer:

Generally speaking, the questions are presented to the whole team and anyone from the team can answer. However, it could be that there is a particular aspect of the presentation that needs to be clarified and then the question could be directed to the student who presented the given aspect.

CREATIVE EVENTS

Question:

My question is concerning the script of the shadow theater. Does it have to be about the cave, the escape and the return? Or can it be a contemporary story inspired by the allegory with no mention of a cave and the return of the man in the cave, but with the same themes and beliefs?

Answer:

The allegory of the Cave should serve as an inspiration for students’ own story and their own reflection on the beliefs and assumptions which shape their reality.

Question:

We are working on the drama and were wondering if the character that can be in front of the screen can go in and out. Can they be behind the screen for some parts of the drama and in front of the screen for other parts?

Answer:

Yes, they can.
