How the programme works

From first contact to placement completion, schools receive dedicated operational and pastoral support, ensuring minimal administrative burden and full safeguarding assurance.

Step 1 - Initial Conversation: We understand your school context, capacity, and preferences.

Step 2 - Partnership Set-Up: A simple agreement is put in place, with full safeguarding and operational clarity.

Step 3 - Onboarding: Schools complete a digital form covering key contacts, timetables, and school information.

Step 4 - Student Matching: We carefully select and prepare students, sharing their profiles with partner schools in advance.

Step 5 - Approval: Partner school approves the proposed placements.

Step 6 - Placement Delivery: Students join your school and follow a normal timetable alongside UK peers, with a full support structure in place.

About the School Immersion Programme

The School Immersion programme places carefully-selected international students to partner schools for structured cultural and academic experiences. We manage all logistics, safeguarding, and student welfare, whereas your school provides the enriching learning environment. All placements are agreed in advance with the school, and no students are placed without school approval.

Partner schools are fully supported

Our partner schools are never expected to manage student welfare or operational issues alone. We've got you covered! Partner school support includes:

  1. Dedicated Placement Manager: Your single point of contact.
  2. Student Support Manager: Oversees well-being, attendance, and behaviour.
  3. 24/7 Host Family Support: Out-of-school welfare and safeguarding.
  4. Clear Escalation Routes: Prompt response to any concerns.

Responsibility sharing

We work closely with our partner schools to ensure they feel supported and are clear on ownership of key responsibilities.

End of Placement review process

At the end of each placement, we aim to ensure a smooth and structured conclusion.

  • Students complete placements as agreed with the school
  • A brief structured feedback form is completed by staff
  • Our team reviews student engagement and attendance reports
  • Any pastoral or safeguarding reflections are addressed jointly, if needed

This feedback is used to generate a formal End of Placement Report for each student, summarising their immersion experience, engagement, and attendance, which they can retain as part of their learning record.

As part of the End of Placement review process, schools receive:

✓ Placement completion confirmation

✓ Student attendance and engagement summary

✓ Optional review discussion for feedback and planning

✓ Recommendation for future placements (if applicable)

Frequently asked questions

Will this create extra work for staff?

No. Schools are not responsible for student recruitment, accommodation, or welfare outside of school hours. Our team manages operational and pastoral processes.

What happens if there’s an issue with a student?

Schools have immediate access to a Placement Manager and escalation routes. Issues are addressed quickly and directly by our support team.

What support is available for schools during the placement?

Schools have a dedicated Placement Manager from onboarding through to completion, plus access to safeguarding and pastoral support 24/7.

Who handles safeguarding?

Safeguarding is jointly managed, but operational responsibility sits with Oxford International. Students are supported 24/7 through host families, Student Support Managers, and the Placement Manager.

Do students need to follow the full school timetable?

Students are integrated into agreed subjects and attend school as normal alongside UK peers.

How flexible are placements?

Placements are designed to work around school capacity, timetable structure, and availability.

Will this affect our school performance data?

No. Students remain enrolled at their home school and are placed with partners as visiting students. They do not sit for exams or contribute to your Schools Attainment 8 or Progress 8 measures.
