Student support available

Safeguarding is central to all Oxford International programmes. Our School Immersion Programme placements are aligned with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance, and students have access to 24/7 welfare support, support through the school's on-site staff, and a dedicated Student Support Manager.

Student support experience:

Pre-arrival preparation: Students and parents/guardians participate in a pre-arrival call (online) to set expectations, reduce anxiety, liaise with the host school on the academic timetable, review arrival logistics, and discuss any specific needs.

Arrival and onboarding: An initial induction (either in-person or online) is completed and covers school expectations, behaviour, and cultural norms. This ensures a smooth first day at school and coordination with the school placement coordinator.

Ongoing welfare and integration: Students receive weekly check-ins at school and have access to regular informal contact (WhatsApp or Microsoft Teams) for ongoing student support. We monitor students' attendance, well-being, and school engagement levels to ensure a positive experience.

Safeguarding and escalation: Our Student Support Manager acts as the primary point of contact, working closely with the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) where required.

Problem resolution: We have processes in place to address academic concerns (i.e. difficulty coping in lessons), social challenges (i.e. friendship, integration), and practical issues (i.e. travel, lunches, schedule).

Host family liaison: We maintain regular contact with students' host families and resolve any day-to-day issues, such as travel, routines, and expectations.

End-of-placement review: We conduct a final check-in with students to gather valuable feedback and continue to improve our programme.
