About the programme
Our Light programme combines engaging English lessons with a budget-friendly Toronto experience. Students build core language skills while discovering the city through excursions to places such as Toronto Islands, High Park, the Distillery District, and Graffiti Alley, with no paid attractions. It’s a great opportunity to experience Canadian culture and build friendships with classmates from around the world!
- 15 hours of English lessons per week
- English levels: Elementary – Proficiency (programme can be adjusted to lower English levels)
- 1 full-day excursion per week
- Visit to the top attractions in Toronto
- Exciting activities both on campus and outdoors
- Build lasting friendships while experiencing a rich mix of nationalities and cultures.
Activity choice:
For a supplement, there is the capacity for post-programme trips to Blue Mountain, French Canada (Ottawa, Montréal, Québec) and New York City.
Academic choice:
For a supplement, you can add an IELTS test to your programme here, which is held at the downtown Oxford International English school. Please inform us at least six weeks in advance when making your booking.

Oxford International Junior Programmes reserves the right to accept students who are slightly younger or older than the advertised minimum/maximum age. These exceptional requests must be approved by our admissions team in advance. Appropriate welfare and safety provisions will apply.

Study English in the heart of one of Canada’s most exciting cities with the Oxford International Light Programme!
Located at Toronto Metropolitan University, our Summer Junior Programme combines high-quality teaching with Toronto’s vibrant culture. Through interactive lessons, students strengthen their vocabulary, grammar, and communication skills while exploring the city, experiencing Canadian culture, and connecting with locals.
Facilities:
- Short walk to Toronto’s top sightseeing spots: Dundas Square, The Eaton Centre and City Hall, Harbourfront, and much more
- TMU Recreation and Athletics Centre (RAC) is available for use. Please see the Centre Manager for pricing
- The International Living and Learning Centre (ILC) features a community kitchenette on each floor a common lounge with cable TV and laundry facilities. There is also a cafeteria and lounge space on the main floor
Accommodation:
- Shared multi-room apartments with shared washrooms (1:4)

- Floor lounges equipped with TVs and kitchenettes

- Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included
All students need to bring their own towels and toiletries.
